Facilities

- The district has spent over 44 million dollars in bond monies over the last seven years in modernizing the campus
- Two story DeSoto building opened in January 2006, houses twenty five classrooms
- The restored 1000-seat auditorium boasts the finest acoustics in the county and is used by the Summer Repertory Theatre
- Two recently restored, fully functional gyms, which include a state-of-the-art fitness and exercise weight room
- New tennis courts and all-weather sports complex, featuring an all weather track and synthetic football/soccer field with a lighting system that allows for evening school/community use
- All classrooms have web access while keeping the architectural integrity of the original design
- The community media center is on campus and SRHS students and staff have access to its facilities
- Fully a third of SRHS students utilize the partnership between SRHS and Santa Rosa Junior College, since both institutions are adjacent, facilities are shared
- Santa Rosa High School is the 9th oldest high school in the state, celebrating its 130th commencement this year
- Santa Rosa High School’s main building has been declared a historic state landmark
- SRHS has been the host for movies, films, and commercials, and is considered by Francis Ford Coppola as one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation
- Voted best public high school by community poll in 2004
- Due to its award-winning programs, SRHS is the only public high school in the county with a waiting list for entrance to the school
- New industry standard veterinary technology laboratory and greenhouse classroom in Agriculture Department

Curriculum and Programs

- An Accelerated Reader program is designed to support students who are not only English Language Learners, but also those who are below average in reading and comprehension

Achievements and Awards

- Student won regional and state TrigStar math competition and placed third nationwide in 2007
- Video students won best original score and best literary adaptation for a submission to California Student Media Festival; one of five finalists for best overall film.  They submitted the winning entry in a Sonoma County Water Agency promotion in 2004 and won the Digital Teen award for special effects at the Tower of Youth Festival.
- Digital Arts students won the following awards in 2004/05: Best animation, and best in 3-D animation in the Parting Shots Film Festival;1st place digital, 2nd place digital in the Zone of Focus Photo Exhibition; 2 merit awards from Media Arts (competing against J.C. students);Best in Category – Art and Best in State all categories in the California Student Media and Multimedia Festival
- ArtQuest dance students were accepted into Alvin Ailey summer program and Orlando ballet school summer program, and Aalonzo King’s “Lines” summer program in S.F. 
- The symphonic band toured and performed in China the spring of 2005.  The concert choir has performed for the Pope at the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.  They have toured Ireland and performed in Vienna and Prague in summer 2005.
- The SRHS FFA chapter is the third oldest in the state of California celebrating it’s 80th year in 2008
- The Academic Performance Index (API) score for 2007/08 was 751
- Eighty-seven percent of the Class of 2010 sophomores passed the math portion of the CAHSEE and eighty-seven percent passed the English portion of the exam
- SRHS is an academic leader, having carried the highest SAT scores in the district for 10 consecutive years
- Twelve Advanced Placement courses and additional honors classes in every subject matter with the highest pass rates in the District on AP exams
- Fifty-two percent of the students met the UC and CSU requirements. The county percentage is 35%
